NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
This week we were reminded of how blessed we are that our students are allowed to embrace and celebrate our Catholic faith at school. We celebrated All Saints Day with our precious first graders dressed as saints as they processed into church to the tune of “The Saints Go Marching In” on Tuesday.
On Thursday our 7th graders created a Living Museum of Saints throughout our campus. Preschool–8th-grade students, teachers, and parents enjoyed strolling through our campus listening to the saints tell their stories and answer questions about their saint's life. We were all so impressed with how well-versed our 7th-grade students are with their knowledge of saints!
Lastly, I would like to invite all of our parents, grandparents, and community-member veterans to join us Friday, November 11th at 8:00 AM in front of our school for our annual Veterans Day Flag Ceremony. I also encourage you to invite your family and friends considering a Catholic education to attend our Open House from 8:00–11:00 AM. Even if they are not in preschool or kindergarten, our School Advisory Board members and Campus Ambassadors would love to show them around our beautiful campus.

Universal ESA Update
We are positively thrilled with the overwhelming response to the ESA program and that so many families are taking advantage of it to reduce their tuition!
Mrs. Kelly McLean is working feverishly to process these contracts in the order received. If you have signed your ESA contract, it is imperative that you forward a copy to Kelly so she can determine active dates and help you receive the maximum possible funding.
AFTER you have sent your contract:
- STO funds will be removed from your account and sent back to the originating STO. Your STO funds will NOT be removed until a signed copy of your contract is received;
- Your FACTS account will be adjusted to reflect quarterly payments;
- You will receive invoices to upload to Classwallet. when your funds are available.
- When you send your signed contract to us, please indicate the date you submitted your application so that we can determine which quarters you will be receiving ESA funds. Applications submitted to ESA after 10/15/22 are not eligible for 1st Quarter (Q1) funding.
Thank you for your patience while we wade through the stacks to process your contract and send you your invoices.
If your ESA contract exceeds what you have paid directly to SJB (non-scholarship), we will issue a refund to you after we have received payment from Classwallet.
We are an authorized vendor through Classwallet. Our vendor name is St John Bosco Catholic School (no period after the St). Please look at the Classwallet information page at https://www.azed.gov/esa
If you use the ESA program, make sure to review the ESA Parent Handbook and become familiar with the program rules and regulations. Compliance with the program rules is the responsibility of the parent. Noncompliance, especially if attempting to use ESA and STO in the same quarter, will result in the parent being banned from the ESA program and responsible for paying funds back to the state.
Uniforms, Sweatshirts, etc.
As the weather gets cooler, your child may want to wear a sweatshirt/sweat jacket and pants instead of shorts or a skirt. Please refer to pages 21 and 22 in the Parent/Student Handbook for a handy chart that explains everything. Please remember that students are only allowed to wear an SJB sweatshirt or sweat jacket in the classroom.
Running with Rosco
SJB's annual Running with Rosco fun run fundraiser is on Wednesday, November 23rd. We will kick off the morning with a pep rally featuring Rosco the Bulldog and other mascot friends! Students, faculty, and parents will then be invited to run laps by grade level with Rosco.
All students and staff will receive a free Running with Rosco T-shirt to wear on the event day and may also be worn on Wednesday spirit days throughout the school year. TODAY— Friday, Nov. 4th—is the last day to order your free T-shirt! (See below)
Would you like to be involved with PTO? Mark your calendar for our next meeting on Tuesday, November 8 at 6:00 PM in the SJB STEM lab (note new location). And don't forget, Family Movie Night is coming up on Friday, November 11. (details below)
PTO Coffee Talk
Many thanks to all who came out to attend our last coffee get-together. We're holding another one at TUK on Friday, November 11 following morning drop-off. This is a great way to connect with other moms/parents in the SJB community. Please join us and bring a friend!
Pack the Pantry
Please help us stock the teachers' lounge with snacks. We thank you for your generosity and hope you find this an easy way to earn service hours. Every $10 = 1 service hour! Below is a list of suggested items that may be dropped off at the front office at your convenience:

Nurse's Notes
* Thank you for all the donations to the nurse's office this trimester. We have a very
generous community.
* I have seen a lot of stomach aches recently. I think most are hungry tummies
because many students come to the office close to lunchtime. Your donations of
saltines have been very helpful for these cases. I am running low on them,
however, and genuinely appreciate continued donations.

The Yearbook Committee needs your help! Do you have pictures you'd love to see in the yearbook? Click the link below to add your photos directly to new TreeRing designated folders. Each teacher has their own folder to which they may add photos of class parties, centers, events, etc. Our yearbook team always appreciates your help in capturing those great moments that we can't always get ourselves!

SCRIP SHOP
Ready or not, the holiday season is upon us! Please plan ahead for your gifting needs. Will you be needing a large amount of cards as gifts? Will you be traveling and need hotel or Disney cards? Please let the Scrip office know as soon as possible so we can get those ordered for you in time.
The Scrip office will be placing a bulk order on Monday, November 7 at 8:00 AM. This is a great opportunity to order physical cards through the app. Any physical cards ordered before 8:00 AM on Monday, November 7th should arrive by Monday, November 14th for distribution to families.
