NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
It has been a busy week as students are settling into their daily routines of centers, lessons, group projects, and homework. They should be coming home pretty tired and hungry after all of their hard work. As I make my daily rounds through classrooms (my favorite part of the day!), I see smiling faces, friendships forming, and hear joyful laughter. It is quite apparent these children enjoy being in school.
Our 2022-23 Bulldog Ambassadors were privileged to receive a special blessing from Fr. Manasseh during last Friday’s school Mass. We hold our ambassadors to the highest standards at all times as they are representatives of our St. John Bosco student body. They will assist with campus tours and events throughout the school year and promote SJB at local parishes.

Picture Day Is TUESDAY
Picture Day is this Tuesday, August 30th. Please make sure your child wears their Mass uniform (WHITE polo) for picture day. Students will have their individual and class photos taken that day, and these photos will be featured in our school yearbook.
Photo order forms were sent home today. If it didn't make it, you may click here to print it yourself.

Nurse's Notes
Parents, as you know, it is still very hot outside and the children are going through GALLONS of water. I am now totally out of water bottles and have had to direct children to the drinking fountain. PLEASE remember to send your child with a water bottle every day. Teachers allow them to refill it throughout the day.
What else do we need? Thank you for asking! In addition to water bottles, the health office is in need of cough drops, children's ibuprofen, tissues, and saltines. Your generosity is always greatly appreciated.
And remember, every $10 in donations of goods or cash is equal to one of the required 25 service hours.

Your PTO would like to thank the many volunteers who helped make the Back-to-School BBQ a huge success. We truly have a remarkable school community!
A special thank you to the Childs and Rivas families for their donation to our hospitality fund. If you would like to make a contribution to this fund, please email PTO at ptosjb@sjbosco.org. Donations fund teacher needs and initiatives.
Research shows that kids learn more and do better when parents, teachers, and the school community at large work together. We invite you to join us at the next PTO meeting on Tuesday, September 13 at 6 pm in the library. We are planning for an exciting year ahead and would love your participation!
Last Reminder: SET Renewal Deadline
Tuesday, August 30
The new Safe Environment Training year began July 1, 2022. If you have not renewed your certification since then, please visit https://phoenix.cmgconnect.org to take the 30-minute renewal. All volunteers must recertify each year. Thank you for helping us keep our children safe.

Seton Catholic 3-on-3 Tourney
The Seton Catholic Prep Girls Basketball Program will be hosting the annual Sentinel 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on September 10th. The tournament ranges from third graders to adults! Information and links to registration can be found at Seton Catholic 3-on-3 Basketball.
