NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
It has been a week filled with faith, unity, and excitement as we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year. Our faculty and staff attended a full-day retreat at Mt. Claret on Wednesday, reviewed school guidelines, safety protocols, and required trainings on Thursday, and attended sessions on best practices for classrooms with their Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) today — all while setting up their classrooms and getting ready for Monday’s big event. Teachers can’t wait to meet each of their new students at Meet the Teacher this Monday, August 9, 4–6PM.
Your first stop will be the MPR to make sure your RenWeb and FACTS accounts are completed, and you have filled out the following back-to-school forms:
When all required items are completed, you will receive an envelope with your child’s new class assignment. Used uniforms will be available for purchase (cash or check) at deeply discounted prices. Then you may proceed to your child’s classroom and meet the teacher. We encourage you to bring your child’s classroom supplies (see list below) at this time to ease the hustle and bustle on that first day.
And on that exciting first day of school, we will attend Mass all together again! Families are welcome to join us at 1:30PM as Fr. James leads our K–8th students in a Eucharistic procession around the school campus and then into the MPR for Mass. Students are asked to wear their “Mass uniform” (white polo) on the first day of school. We will also attend Mass on Friday at 8:15AM, in which all students are required to wear their Mass uniform. Please see the dress code for further details.

Remember, in order to receive the envelope with your child’s assigned teacher, you must have all RenWeb and FACTS account information set up as well as the items listed below.

Regular Office Hours Resume
We're back! The school office will be open Mon. through Thurs. 7AM – 3:30PM, and Fridays 7AM – 1PM.
Do you have everything?
Click on your child's grade to reveal the classroom supply list. We suggest bringing your supplies on Monday when you come for "Meet the Teacher."
Safe Environment Training Renewal
Safe Environment Training (SET) expires every year for everyone on June 30th. Thus, unless you renewed your certification on or after July 1, 2022, your existing certification has expired. EVERYONE who wishes to volunteer in any capacity is asked to visit https://phoenix.cmgconnect.org to update your profile information and take the 30-minute renewal.

Before- and After-School Service
Have we got news for you!! St. John Bosco is now offering Innovation Learning, a full-service, extended-day program for preschool through 8th-grade children who need to be dropped off early (6:30–7:30 AM, M - F) and/or be picked up after school is dismissed (M–Th, 3:00–6: 00 PM; Friday, 12:30m–6 PM.) Innovation Learning is introducing a new family registration platform called EZChildTrack, a robust software program designed to ease the registration process. ALL families are considered a “new” family as the accounts are being created. More information can be found below:

Parent-Teacher Organization
Don't forget about the first PTO Meeting of the year on Tuesday, August 9th at 6PM in the library. We're looking for volunteers to help with First-Day-of-School decoration prep! Click here to sign up!
Quickly meet your service hour requirement by donating to our hospitality fund which provides meals for our teachers and staff during back-to-school events and conferences. Please send an email to ptosjb@sjbosco.org for more information. Every $10 a parent donates for an item to the school = one service hour.

Fall Sports
Boys’ football, girls’ volleyball, and cross-country club are starting soon! And we’ve made it easier for parents to complete the necessary forms by making them digital; no need to make copies! Just click SUBMIT and we’ll take care of the rest. Please click the link below and submit by August 19th.
And if you’d like to get a jump on that annual physical exam, below are the medical forms you may print and take to your child’s pediatrician or medical clinic. This is also due August 19, 2022.

Who needs a pool? We are swimming in LEGOs, thanks to your donations of tiny, no-longer-needed plastic bricks. Please keep them coming! Mr. Mac will use every last one to help upgrade our STEM program and Media Room. Thank you for your generosity!
