Dear Parents,
It was wonderful to see everyone back on campus this week! It was very quiet during Spring Break as the security crew installed over 30 new security cameras. This enhancement was funded by proceeds from this year's Running with Rosco event hosted by Cindy Casaus and our fabulous PTO, as well as the “Together Let Us Go Forth” Diocesan Capital Campaign.
I enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with our students this year! How fun to see so many smiling faces entering the gate Thursday morning proudly wearing green and the sea of green in the MPR during lunch. I also heard that some sneaky leprechauns were causing mischief around campus. Unfortunately, our preschoolers and kindergarteners were unsuccessful in trapping them with their incredibly creative traps. We'll get 'em next year!
Thank you for supporting our annual Bosco Gala, “Celebrating 20 Years of Academic Excellence, Faith, and Community.” This was an amazing event and we exceeded our goal with a profit of $138,245.44! The funds from this event will tremendously benefit our school by providing curriculum, technology upgrades, and classroom materials for every teacher. We are truly grateful for your generosity and support for the students of St. John Bosco.
As promised, since we achieved our goal, the entire SJB community is invited to attend “Sundae on Monday” this Monday, March 21st at 2:30 PM in our courtyard. Each grade level will be given a different topping to pour, sprinkle, or squirt on me to make me into a giant sundae! You won’t want to miss this gooey, hilarious event!
Lastly, I want to congratulate the Stallings Family for winning the “Tuition Raffle.” They will receive $5000 off of their tuition for next school year. Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket to help support our beloved school. Maybe next year your family will be the lucky winner!

Show Your Talent!
This annual event will be held on Thursday, April 21. Permission slips are available in the front office and must be turned in by 12:30 PM next Friday, March 25. Tryouts are after school the week of March 28. See this permission slip for more information.
To accompany the Talent Show, we are continuing our tradition of showcasing our talented SJB artists. Students are encouraged to draw a picture, scan it, and email it to Mrs. Rafford. These pictures will be displayed during the Talent Show.
Fun Run!
Please join us for the 1st Annual SJB Family Fun Run on Saturday, April 2nd. This is a 5K run/walk from SJB through Pecos Park and back. We will have a food truck, live music, bounce house, and games for everyone after the run. Check-in will begin at 7:45 AM with the run starting at 9:00 AM and post-run festivities till 12:00 PM. Adults are $35 and kids are $10; maximum cost per family is $80. All participants will receive a Family Fun Run Shirt, a completion medal of the 1st Annual FFR, and other items. Sponsorship opportunities are available for $150 (company logo on race shirts, company recognition, and your company banner displayed at event). Warm up, stretch out, and we’ll see you there!

The evening will begin with St. Benedict Parish hosting the Family Stations of the Cross in the SJB courtyard and end with a simple meal of soup and rolls immediately following the stations.

Friday’s Soup and Stations offer an opportunity for both students and parents to complete service hours. More importantly, it's a perfect time to come together as a family for prayer and reflection during this Lenten season.

Scrip Shop
Congratulations to all families for making this a profitable Scrip year! The 2021-2022 Scrip year has concluded. The last day to earn Scrip was yesterday, March 17, 2022. Any purchases made on March 18th, 2022, and after will count toward next year's earnings. Year-end earnings reports will be compiled and sent out at the end of the month. Employment Opportunity
St. Benedict Roman Catholic Parish, a dynamic and expanding faith community serving 1,200 families in Phoenix AZ, is seeking a full-time Director of Music and Liturgy. The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic with knowledge and experience in coordinating parish liturgy and music.
Key responsibilities for this position include planning and arranging liturgy and music for all parish liturgical celebrations and leading music ministry members and the assembly in worship.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music or another related field, a minimum of 2 years of liturgy experience in the Roman Catholic tradition, proficiency in an accompanying instrument and vocal/choral conducting, excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills, and computer literacy.
