NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
What a fabulous week! How exciting it was to see our entire community participate in the various activities of Catholic Schools Week!
So many people are responsible for the smooth operation of the week’s festivities. We are truly grateful to our devoted SJB families and faculty/staff for their generous gifts of time and effort to make this week memorable for the students. The display of teamwork from teachers, staff, parents, and students throughout the week is what makes St. John Bosco more than a school; it makes us a community.
It was truly gratifying to see so many of our current families attend Open House to admire the children’s brilliant art and science projects on full display, and enjoy the performance of the Chandler Children’s Choir, including our very own 7th grader, Avery Zils. A special thanks to our School Board Members and Campus Ambassadors for providing tours to visiting families considering enrollment for next year. It is indeed a proud moment for us to witness our 8th graders, who not long ago were in preschool, now leading families around campus and proudly expressing their experience at St. John Bosco.
Enrollment is now open to new families so tell your family and friends to apply. And current families should not forget to take advantage of the re-enrollment discounts for re-enrolling by February 28th.
Lastly, next Friday marks the end of the 2nd Trimester and report cards will be emailed on Tuesday, February 15th. Teachers will be sending out a sign up genius for conferences taking place February 16th, 17th and 18th. I highly encourage you to take this opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to hear how much they have progressed in just a few short months!

Library Thank You
SJB Librarian Theresa Harvey wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the Underwood Family (Seton, grade 4; Lucas, grade 2) for their generous monetary donation to the St. John Bosco Library. This charitable contribution will be put towards the purchase of many new books for the reading pleasure of all our students.
Sincere thanks also to the families donating gently-used books from their own home collections. These books are used in both the main library and in the classroom libraries and enjoyed by all the children.
Calling all Dads with Daughters!
Bring your favorite girls to the Annual St. John Bosco Father-Daughter Dance, Saturday Feb 12, 6:30 - 9pm in the Bosco Courtyard. Enjoy a date night with your daughters under the stars and enjoy DJ music, decorations, treats, and beverages. Only $30 per family and includes a family photograph!

Enrollment/Re-Enrollment for 2022-2023
Enrollment is now open to the general public as well as to current families. Due to heavy interest in St. John Bosco School, current families are strongly advised to re-enroll early to ensure a spot for their children next year.
Money-Saving Note: Families re-enrolling by February 28, 2022 will receive a discounted enrollment fee of $150 per K - 8th-grade students and/or $200 for Preschool, with a family maximum of $250. On March 1, enrollment fees will increase to $200 for K - 8th-grade students and/or $225 for Preschool, with a family maximum of $300.
Bonus Incentive: Families who re-enroll their student(s) by Monday, February 28 will receive a free dress day for their child(ren).
But wait, there's more! Current families who REFER a NEW family for the 2022-2023 School Year will receive a $100 credit on their tuition when the new family starts school in August.

Choir Club Starts Thursday
Choir Club is an after-school, extracurricular activity meeting on Thursdays, 3:15 - 4:00 PM and is open to all 4th - 8th grade students. Our first meeting will be next Thursday, Feb 10, 2022. Please join us!
Students in this club will explore preparing songs in both unison and parts in a variety of musical styles. The choir will participate in several school-related activities, and will sing once a month at a St. Benedict Sunday morning Mass (9am or 11am).

Free Throw Contest TOMORROW 🏀
Boys and girls ages 9 - 14 years are invited to participate in the Annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest on the SJB basketball court tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 5 at 10 AM. Grab some friends, receive a prize, and see how far you can advance into the 3-round tournament. SJB students often reach the finals!

Calling all teachers interested in the mission of Catholic Education. The Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Schools Office is hosting its Teacher Recruitment Job Fair on February 19 at the Diocesan Pastoral Center from 9 am to Noon. Our diocese has 29 elementary schools, 31 preschools and six high schools. We are always seeking the very best educators wanting to provide a superior education in a loving, Catholic environment.
