Dear Parents,
What a wonderful way to start off our week by gathering as a community at TopGolf to show our School Spirit! The entire first floor of TopGolf in Gilbert was filled with St. John Bosco students and families as our Dads’ Club hosted a fabulous, fun-filled family event and raised over $8,500 for school enhancements. We are blessed to have such an active, supportive community.
Next Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on the United States. Many of us will never forget where we were that day when the tragic news unfolded. It is a time to remember the courage of so many firefighters, paramedics, police officers, and first responders that sacrificed their lives to save so many. Our Student Council officers and Boy Scouts will honor all of these heroic men and women with a Patriotic Flag ceremony and prayer service in the SJB courtyard at 8:00am on Friday, September 10th before walking over to Mass. We would like to invite all of our parents and community members that are firefighters, paramedics, police officers, nurses, military and first responders to join us in honoring all of our brave heroes. All Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts may wear their scout uniforms next Friday.
Stay safe and enjoy the long Labor Day weekend. We look forward to seeing your beautiful children on Tuesday, September 7th.

Nurse's Notes
Parents, please keep your child at home if they are sick. Symptoms of COVID include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nasal congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. If your child develops symptoms, please call your medical provider or have your child tested. There are several options available, including:
- Embry Health Drive-Thru Testing
- ASU Drive-Thru Saliva Testing
- Banner Urgent Care

Soccer Challenge for Boys & Girls

It's Time to Run!
The first cross country practice will be Thursday, Sept. 9, and each Tuesday and Thursday thereafter. Email Mr. Caradonna to sign up (extended to Sept. 8).

Looking for Coaches

Girls on the Run
and
Heart & Sole
Girls on the Run (grades 3 - 5) and Heart & Sole (grades 6 - 8) are afterschool programs that teach girls important life lessons and skills and incorporate running activities. Girls on the Run covers topics such as turning negative self talk into positive self talk, making friends, being a good friend, talking about emotions, empathy, gratitude, handling conflict, and much more! Heart & Sole focuses on parts of the Girl Wheel - body, brain, heart, spirit, and social - and teaches girls how to grow in these areas.
Neither girls nor volunteer coaches need to be runners! All are encouraged to find their happy pace and the type of movement most comfortable for them, whether running, walking, skipping, or jogging. The GOTR season begins in spring 2022.
Program Manager Julie Tritschler is looking for parents and/or teachers to continue the program this year. If you are interested in taking on this vibrant program, please contact Julie. Below are links to provide more insight:
