NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
It has been a busy week as students are settling into their daily routines of centers, lessons, group projects, and homework. They should be coming home pretty tired and hungry after all of their hard work. As I make my daily rounds through classrooms (my favorite part of the day!), I see smiling faces, friendships forming, and hear joyful laughter. It is quite apparent these children enjoy being in school.
I would like to give a friendly reminder to all visitors to please exit the campus from the front (main) gate only; the side and back gates should only be used in emergencies. We want to maintain a secure campus by keeping all other gates closed at all times.
I would also like to thank everyone for their support with our updated SJB Safety Plan. We truly appreciate parents and visitors wearing masks when visiting classrooms and the school office. It is heartwarming to see us all come together as a community to keep our school safe so we can continue to provide a quality, Catholic, in-person education for all learners.

Nurse's Notes
Thank you, students and parents, for doing such a great job following the mitigation strategies we have in place. The goal is to keep everyone -- students, faculty, and staff -- safe and healthy.
It is still very hot outside, and I am giving away many water bottles and kids' masks. I would be very grateful for donations of water and KIDS’ masks.

Happy Birthday Fr. James!
Mrs. Bescak delivered the students' hand-made cards to Fr. James on Tuesday and the entire student body sang "Happy Birthday" to him after Mass today! We thank God for him, our shepherd, and pray he remains as blessed as his flock.
Girl Scouts
Interested in Girl Scouts? Meetings will start up again soon!

Soccer Fun for Boys & Girls
Join us for the Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge September 11th @ 9am on the SJB soccer field. Boys & girls ages 9 - 14 are welcome. Contact luisacosta456@gmail.com with any questions. Come and show off your penalty kicking skills!

Looking for Coaches
for
Girls on the Run
and
Heart & Sole
Girls on the Run (grades 3 - 5) and Heart & Sole (grades 6 - 8) are afterschool programs that teach girls important life lessons and skills and incorporate running activities. Girls on the Run covers topics such as turning negative self talk into positive self talk, making friends, being a good friend, talking about emotions, empathy, gratitude, handling conflict, and much more! Heart & Sole focuses on parts of the Girl Wheel - body, brain, heart, spirit, and social - and teaches girls how to grow in these areas.
Neither girls nor volunteer coaches need to be runners! All are encouraged to find their happy pace and the type of movement most comfortable for them, whether running, walking, skipping, or jogging. The GOTR season begins in spring 2022.
Program Manager Julie Tritschler is looking for parents and/or teachers to continue the program this year.

Coaches Still Needed
We are still looking for a few good men to coach flag football for grades 5 - 8. If you can volunteer your time and talent, the boys and Mr. Caradonna would be very grateful.
